Why We Write
What if the spaces we pass by every day could tell stories about who we are?
The spaces we shape and live in, shape us. Everyone carries a few stories about the places that shaped them—their childhood home, the schoolyard where friendships formed, or that one friend’s house that always felt like a second home.
These memories and experiences not only shape who we are, but also influence how we interact, see and create spaces. For architects, craftsmen and artists, these everyday experiences become the foundation of their work. By sharing these memories and stories, we can appreciate the hidden influences that shape the environments around us, and the people that designed them.
The aim of this journal is to share these stories - to inspire and educate. Besides interviews with small architects, artists and craftsmen, we'll cover spaces that inspire us, buildings that have histories that have been forgotten and visit locations that the traditional architectural journals wouldn't find interesting enough.
Through this journal we hope to shine a light on the spaces that often go unnoticed and share the stories that make them special.
